The Hickory Wind Band

THE HICKORY WIND BAND IS A 6 PIECE, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA-BASED VARIETY BAND RANGING FROM COUNTRY, POP & ROCK BAND. WE PLAY WIDE RANGE OF MUSIC ALONG WITH OUR ORIGINAL TUNES.

We take pride in providing high-energy entertainment for corporate events, hotels and casinos, private parties, County Fairs, Concerts in The Park and old time Honky Tonks for over a decade.  Our song list consist of popular TOP 40 tunes and classic favorites.  HWB has played events throughout San Diego County, including Fleet Week San Diego,  Junior Seau Oceanside Amphitheater events, Concerts In The Park, Wounded Warriors, Toys 4 Tots, Various Military Events and Fundraisers and opening act for Coffee Anderson at the Del Mar Race Track, Veterans Day!

HWB provides popular music and old time classic hits from Patsy Cline to Pink, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood and Emmylou Harris to Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton to Johnny Cash, Led Zepplin, Metallica, LeAnn Rimes to Stevie Nicks, Darius Rucker to Kid Rock, Elle King, Lacey Wilson to Lady Antebellum, Luke Combs, and Adele & Lady Gaga.

About The Members of The Band:

Deborah Lynn, Lead Vocalist & Guitar

Deb is the is the lead vocalist and background singer, as well as a song writer.  Her love for music comes from her father who had the opportunity to play lead guitar with Waylon Jennings early on in his career!  Deborah Lyn studied music business at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  Deborah Lyn's influences are:  Carol King, Patsy Cline, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Stevie Nicks Lady Gaga and Pink. Deborah has entertained from Nashville to Southern California and aspires to continue her creative nature in writing songs. 

Dave "Sheepdog", Lead Guitarist and Vocalist

Dave has played guitar in bands since his high school days.  He started playing in the Southern California area and while in the USAF, played elsewhere in the US for various outfits and his roots in classic rock, country and blues.  Dave is a huge Beatles fan, and also loves Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Roy Clark, Brad Paisley and anyone who can bend a note.  His go-to instrument is the Gibson Les Paul, but he also plays a Fender Strat, Breedlove acoustic and several other Gibson and Fender axes through a Fender Blues-Deluxe amp with various stomp boxes.

Gusso - Drummer 

Gusso is the Rhythmic Backbone of our band. He was born & raised in Bakersfield,CA “The Country Music Capital of the West Coast” and started playing drums at the age of 10. His family moved to Las Vegas, NV “The Entertainment Capital of the World” when he was 13. This move exposed him  to a wide variety of musical styles & top talents that kindled his passion for drumming.  He studied at the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, VA which trained him in all genres of music. He is also a graduate of the Music Business Institute in Atlanta, GA. 

In his time as an Army Bandsman, Gusso was based in Germany and toured extensively throughout Europe, playing up to 300 gigs a year.  Since his return from Germany, Gusso has been a fixture in the Southern California music scene playing everything   from Country to Classic Rock, from Jazz to Black Gospel and Contemporary Christian Music. His passion for drumming continues as a member of the Hickory Wind Band.
